Lakota has been the beating heart of the city's music scene for over 30 years and needed a rebrand that reflects who they are today. We built an identity, website and motion language for their new chapter that acknowledges their past, sets the tone for their future, and represents the diversity of the space.
Everything from the logo to image treatment is inspired by the venue's heritage, the building's architecture and the history of rave culture in Bristol.
Lakota's custom-built website connects their fresh identity with a brand new motion language and a host of new pages and functionality. The animated patterns and textures have been created using parts of the logo and the iconic walls and sticky floors in the club.
The verbal identity centres around three core pillars: Rebels with cause, Cut the fluff and Nuff respect. A purposeful new attitude underpinned by the venue’s focus on community and heritage.
